The museum offers a truly unique immersive experience thanks to its interactive multimedia tools and contents that are able to transmit information and especially emotions, regarding the events of the Italian-Austrian front that have affected Mount San Michele and the Lower Isonzo front.
The Museum allows you to experience first hand the events of the Great War on Mount St. Michael: a unique and engaging journey through 2D interactive maps and 3D reconstructions of the Cima 3 gunner gallery and of the cave named after General Lukachich. In the VR 360 room, 15 workstations with viewers and headphones allow visitors to see themselves in the trenches, to listen to the stories of the war correspondents and finally, to relive the tragic moment of the gas attack on 29 June 1916 and the overflight of the plateau of Doberdò on the Spad XIII plane led by Francesco Baracca.
By purchasing the museum ticket, visitors can activate the Augmented Reality (AR) contents, visible along the external pedestrian museum path, along the gunner gallery and the Lukachich cave. An on-site signage allows you to activate multimedia contents in Augmented Reality (AR) via mobile app: by framing the AR target through the lens of your smartphone you will see 3D holograms on your screen and listen to some stories related to the events of these places.
The gunner gallery, built under Cima 3 from October 1916 to June 1917 for defensive purposes, was then the headquarters of the tactical command of the Italian Third Army. Visiting the gunner gallery it is possible to discover the history of this fortification with Augmented Reality.
The Museum's offer is enriched by Augmented Reality (AR). Accessible in some points of the outdoor museum itinerary through the San Michele VR mobile app, it is dedicated to the entire sacred area. It will give you more information about the monuments, the visit routes, the galleries of Cima 3 and the entrenched lines.
For coaches, access is recommended by San Martino del Carso which can be reached from the SP 15 to Doberdò del Lago.
